Recently on boot-up, my computer with Windows XP w/ SP2 and all updates is
asking for the CD no. 1 with "scan.msi" file.

I loaded Norton Internet Security 2008 on this computer with weekly updates.
Norton is working fine.

Does anyone know a fix for this error message?

A quick web search (http://www.google.ca/search?
hl=en&q=scan.msi&btnG=Google+Search&meta=) seems to indicate that this
file is for HP scanners.  Do you have a scanner?

Yes I do have a HP scanner, printer, copier, and fax.  I have an HP Officejet
5610xi All-in-one.
Thanks,
Gene B.
