Hey all,

I just put my computer together and installed XP, but when I try to
scroll on ANY webpage, the scrolling is SUPER slow and choppy. This
same type of effect happens when I have a window open and try to move
it around quickly.

I thought at first I might need to increase the refresh rate on my
monitor, but I actually cannot find that control anymore. ???

Anyway, here are some of my specs:

MSI K9MM-V motherboard with onboard graphics
AMD Athlon 64 X2 dual core 3600+
1024 mb ram

Is it the onboard video? I haven't noticed any other graphics issues.

Thanks everyone!

Hi Shanna,
Did you installed all the drivers for the Motherboard or go to the MOBO
manufacturer website and download the latest drivers for your Motherboard and
Video card.
What your Mouse make/model, did you gone to IE properties >> Advanced tab
and check the Smooth scrolling radio Button!.

Thanks for replying.

Smooth scrolling is on. I have an old Logitech optical mouse, which
worked fine with previous xp installations.

However, I'm starting to think I don't have onboard video. Is that
possible? Neither the drivers disk nor the website mention anything
about video/graphics drivers. I assumed that because I had a place to
plug in a monitor and the monitor turns on and works, I had onboard
video. Is this wrong? I have an AGP slot, should I invest in a video
card?

Thanks again. This is really driving me nuts.

There is no make and model because I assembled it from a barebones kit I
got from tiger direct. I tried installing mouse drivers, but that didn't
help.

I'm still thinking it might be the graphics card (or lack there of).

Any thoughts on that?

Thanks so much,
Shanna

You need to go to the Motherboard manufacturer and download the latest
drivers for the Mobo and your Video card.
If you cannot see your mouse there try another mouse and see if the Mouse is
bad.

Hi there
I was just wondering if you've got your computer sorted and if you have,
what you did to fix it because I'm having exactly the same problem with mine.

Hello,
I've been searching for information to help me eliminate the slow, choppy
scrolling on my computer.  I just installed Windows XP Home and everything is
wonderful with the exception of this problem.  I found your post and wondered
if you were able to resolve you problem.  If so, can you tell me how you did
it?
Many thanks for any  help you can offer.
  Very Best!
  Kathy
