i lost files to win xp sp2 while trying to download silver

i had my comput updated from win 98 and had a cd burner added also i had more
drivespace put in. i was trying to download a update and it would not let me
it said my winxp was not right and then it not only deleted the download it
deleted my update i cant find t files. i dont have the code no or the serial
no.cause i did not get a backup cd. please help

Go back to whomever 'upgraded" your PC and demand the CD/product key...

It sounds - just from what you have written - you got rooked.
