boot and bios problems

bios name:IBM PIKT37AJP
operating system:xp service pack2
M/T 6579-TGJ
S/N 97-972H3
intel desktop boards d845HVand d845WN
996mhz,256ram
intel pentium iii processor

*when i start windows after loaded booting stops windows xp becomes
"grey" after stopping the cpu and on the cpu it shows "Windows cannot
start sucessfully problems might be with software or hardware"after 30
seconds xp  starts .but it becomes stable in middle of some work only
stopping is the only way.after restarting by loading "xp cd"in to the
cd drive only system works.
*when i check my system with "chkdsk/f" in dos as well as using
recovery console "it shows errors in the drive" i format c: still same
problem occurs after reinstalling xp also.  how to resolve these
issues

You may have to replace the hard disk. Go to the manufacturer's website
and get the manufacturer's disk diagnostics. That will determine whether
your disk needs to be replaced. Meanwhile, you should backup as much as
you can to removable storage, e.g., an external hard drive, DVD or flash
drive.
