I'm running WXP Professional on a 2.4 GHz Intel CPU. Three days ago, after updating my NAV 2007 virus signatures, right-clicking anything in the Start Menu suddenly ceased functionung. E.g., I cannot right-click an entry in My Recent Documents for immediate deletion, & I cannot right-click a Favorites entry to examine its properties. Any ideas? Note that I can still right-click folders & documents not in my Start Menu. Note that Symantec tech support is a joke at best; in this case, however, they are a red-herring to the problem. Note that I can still right-click > folders & documents not in my Start Menu. Check the following. Go to Start -> Control Panel and double click Taskbar and Start Menu. Click on the Start Menu tab. Hit the Customize button. 1. If you're using the XP style menu, click on the Advanced tab. In the Start menu items box, make sure "Enable dragging and dropping" is checked. Click OK twice. 2. If you're using the Classic menu, look in the "Advanced Start Menu options" box for "Enable dragging and dropping". Make sure it's checked. Click OK twice. My crash had crashed -- several times-- and I couldn't remember the settings so I just clicked what made sense. Since my mouse wouldn't bring up a menu on the Start Menu, I started searching for menus and found your reply to Joe Davis. It worked for him so I tried it and it worked for me. Thanks to all you guys who are willing to share your knowledge with those of us who are still muddling our way through.
