every time i move my mouse, the active window deactivates and the window that
he mouse pointer is at becomes active.  I used to have to click to activate a
window, now it just does it, where ever it may be.  Any help would be
appreciated

That feature is known as 'X-mousing' and many prefer it. You can turn it
off in TweakUI (if you've installed it) or your mouse software.
