Do you have the same behavior if you use XCopy from a command line? I
quit using Explorer for copying directories after it said it would take
days to copy 60+ GB of files. XCopy did the same in hours and I created
a script to automate the procedure where it only copies new or changed
files.

I haven't tried the XCopy yet, but after I updated to Service pack 3 the
problems stopped for now.
