I get error message 1719 when trying to run detect and repair ...when I now
run Outlook the windows installer tries to run but fails at this point every
time..please help

or Remove Program - 1719

Ignore the title - try either re-registering or reinstalling the Windows installer.

Thanks TaurArian.

I tried first reregistering and then after that I tried reinstalling.
Unfortunately had no luck. Now desperate! System has really slowed down, and
get lots of 'not responding' in task manager.

Anyone help?

Have you checked for virus/malware problems recently?

Might be a good idea to check to see if the system is clean.

Thanks TraurArian.

I have now hopefully fixed the proble. Kaspersky was running , presumably in
the background and I think conflicting with Virgin PCGuard. I downloaded a
new free version of Kaspersky 7 which detected the old version 5 and deleted
it. Then I uninstalled K 7 , rebooted, ran a scan and clean up and then ran
XP detect and repair...I'm happy to say that it worked and it seems to be
working much better.

Here's hoping, but thanks for your comments.
