I got a new computer and have moved most of my photo
files to the new computer throught the wireless net in my
home.  the problem is with several files I can see them
on the network but they appear as files and not the
actual pictures.  Why can I do some but not all.  I have
checked and they are not hidden or write protected.
Please help.
Thanks

You need to select Thumbnail view from the View Menu for that folder.
Not all file dialogs honor the thumbnail view setting.  If some files
have no thumbnail in a given folder with Thumbnail View, they are not

I should have added that Irfanview is a free and very good image
processing program www.irfanview.com .  You can always try to open the
file from that program.  It supports many filetypes.  Alternatively, you
could try replacing those files with a new copy from the old computer.
Corruption during file transfers is not unheard of.
