I am using Windows XP& Microsoft office professional 2003. When I insert my
memory stick into my card reader (lexar media rw012 rev. B) I get a prompt
page that I always have gotten. However the function I always used to move
my pictures were I wanted to. ( copy pictures to a folder on my computer)
does not work. I can delete pictures from there or print pictures  but I
cannot view pictures as a slide show or copy pictures to my folder  that I
want to. I have checked this hardware and the driver all are working
properly so windows say's. Could anyone please help me get this function of
the prompt window back ( copy pictures to a folder on my computer). When I
select it the prompt disappears and nothing happens. Any help would be
greatly appreciated.    Tom C

Try this:

go to...Start / Run and type:

"REGSVR32 SHIMGVW.DLL"
(without the quotes)(Yes, there's
a space between 2 and S)

Click...OK.

John thank you for the information. However it did not help me. When I click
ok to accept the prompt to copy pictures to a folder on my computer using
Microsoft Scanner and Camera Wizard it just closes the prompt screen and
nothing happens. I have my memory stick inserted and the computer recognizes
the device in my computer but no luck . Please if you have any other advice.
I have downloaded and tried (auto fix)and went in and manually re-set my
settings for this device.    Hoping Tom C

PS I to will be looking for a fix ty

The only other thing I can think of...considering that
you have tried all the normal fixes that are routinely
posted in this newsgroup would be to format the
memory stick. This must be done in the camera and
any files currently on the stick will be lost.

The type of software discussed in the following article
may allow you to restore the files after the format...
I have not tried it and cannot guarantee that it will be
successful.

John I am not sure if you are understanding me or if I got you misled. Sorry
in any case.My memory card holds the pics just fine and allows them to be
downloaded to the E- removable storage area. However when the prompt or menu
for what I want to do with them comes up. When I select move or copy to a
file on my computer the menu disappears and nothing happens after that. Like
mabey at that point it used to open Microsoft camera and scanner wizard and
let me put them were I wanted them now I don't have the option when I click
the choice the menu just disappears. I right clicked on my removable storage
device and tried to re-set auto play but it would not work after that. I am
stumped can you pass this around or should I consider that the card reader
(lexar media ) is no good. I appreciate your help and patience.

OK, what if you right click the *removable storage device*
and choose *Explore*...maybe you can simply copy / paste
the images from there.

Pass it around? To whom? We are simply volunteers, you
are not corresponding with Microsoft.

have gotten all the advice you have to offer . I don't ask for help if I am
not willing to help myself I want ask you again.

Thanks for all your time I appreciate it.
