Can't open photos

I am having a problem opening .jpg files. I cannot open
most .jpg files that are emailed to me (no problem so far
with files on cd etc), it does not matter what program i
use i get a "file type not valid" message. in one case
however i emailed .jpg files to someone else who emailed
them back to me and then i was able to open them!

In options, Security tab, tick "Do not allow attachments to be saved or opened that
could potentially be a virus." Be certain your virus software is up to date.
