When i burn my photos on to a cd using the built in burning software i always get an error message saying some of the information for thumbs is missing and may not work, then once it has finished and i check the cd there are no thumb views of the pictures

Do i need to buy some software for this or should it work?

Thanks in advance

When you open the CD, you will not automatically see thumbnails. You need to
set the View button to thumbnails. Click on the last button on right on your
top bar and change the View to Thumbnails. The message you are receiving is
normal and answering No is also what you should do.
