I have a CD containing about 130 pictures, each about 1-
1.5 Mb in size. When I open the file in "My computer" and
try to view the pictures either as thumbnails or
filmstrip, it takes forever for the pictures to be
displayed. Even moving from one picture to the next seems
an eternity.
I'm running a DELL Dimension 8200, 2.52Ghz, 1.0Gb RAM,
Windows XP Pro Version 2002, Service Pack 1.
I've tried to close out of all programs, restart and only
open the CD with the picture files, but same slow results.
Why is it so slow? What can I do?
Help will be greatly appreciated.

Was your virus scanner disabled? If not...it
might be worth a try to disable it when viewing
the CD.

If you download and install TweakUI...it has
an option that allows you to reduce the size
and quality of your thumbnails...this may
speed things up a bit.

Try copying the photos to your hard drive before looking
at them. Have you tried it on any other computers?
