In the file properties section under "comments" the keyword field is
disabled for *.tiff files. Since I do all my photo scanning to tiff files
to preserve their quality, this is unfortunate.
Why is this so, and how can it be circumvented?
Please help, Frank.

This is a known problem with XP. If something is entered it will corrupt a
tiff file. Maybe this will be corrected with SP2 but I don't know if it
will.

This is a known problem in a lot of MS apps. They don't seem to like TIFFs
anymore, or BMP either. Like you, I scan everything in TIFF and try to save
all my original graphics in TIFF format, but I now make copies of everything
in JPG (reduced resolution and size) to use with MS apps

Thanks for all replies. I have been using MS "Digital Image Suite 9" and
this allows the use of keywords in TIFF files, so I might use this.
Anyway, it is easier & quicker to add keywords for any file with this
software.
Regards Frank.

Fully agree. I use the same software to do this.
