After downloading service pack 2 yesterday, I lost the
ability to click on a picture displayed as a thumbnail,
and see if full screen like I could before downloading.
Now all I see is a blank picture viewer screen that looks
like the old one except without a picture. Any ideas on
what happened and what I can do to bring this capability
back?

Maybe this KB article will be useful:

I have the same problem except instead of seeing a blank
screen double-clicking on the image opens it up for
editing in my picture program. This only used to happen
when i specifically clicked on the image and opened it
for editing. I can still get the image in the windows
picture viewer by right-clicking on it and selecting
preview but this is not as easy or useful as double-
clicking the image.
Any help on how to restore the picture viewer as the
default would be useful.

===================================
Right click an image file and from
the menu...choose...Properties.
On the General tab left click the
Change button.
Select...Windows Picture and Fax
Viewer...OK / Apply / OK...
That should do it.
