I have several pictures that I need to add to Power Point.  How can I make
the files smaller for Power Point?   The pictures are in Dell Image, I saved
some as jpg files but the size is the same as in Dell Image?  Is there
another format to use for the pictures so I can add all of them in Power
Point or can I use another application?

To decrease the size of the file for e-mail, web publishing, etc.

Go to this site and download the free Image Resizer. Exe file in one of your
folder.

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/pro/downloads/powertoys.asp

Once in your folder, double click on it to install it.

Once installed, you right click on a photo file (or on a group of selected
photo files).

Click on Resize image on the opening menu.

A window will open, select the size you want.

In your case, don't select a size. Click on the Advanced button. Then for
screen size, change the numbers you see to 320 and 240 (or if this is still
too big, try 160 x 120)

New files will be added in your folder, same name as original file but with
the word (small) or (custom) added.

The first time you use it, you may not see Resize image on the opening menu
after you right click on a photo file or if you see it and click on it, it
may not work.  If so, do the following:

Click on Run, click on Start and type the following in the textbox:

REGSVR32 SHIMGVW.DLL

and press the Enter key.

Note that there is a space between  ...32 and SHI.

You should get a message after pressing the Enter key.

Also, you can download a free photo editing software from here to resize
pictures and edit photos:

You can open your photos in office picture manager there you can adjust them
to any size you want. You can make them larger for web purposes or smaller
for attachments etc.Once you have got your desired size save as, in a new
file keeping your original photo. I have a seperate file just for this type
of work.
