Before installing Photo Story 3, I attempted to view the 4 samples on the MS
Photo Story 3 site
(http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/digitalphotography/photostory/default.mspx).
Only 1 of the 4 worked. The one that worked was only one picture that panned
around. The other 3, which contain multiple pictures, displays the first
picture only and then the screen goes black. After installing it, I
attempted to create my own story and encountered the same problem...the
first picture displays fine, but after that, it's just a black screen using
Windows Media Player 10. The music continues to play, and when I created the
story, the preview worked just fine. I have checked for codec updates, Media
Player Updates, and video card updates, and everything seems to be up to
date. Any assistance would be appreciated.

Did you check the system rerquirements?

Yes I did, and my system more than meets the requirements.

I installed media player 10 and photo story 3 software and they worked fine
for most functions but the player could not play a sound track from a WMV
file generated by Photo story 3. When I coded with the MP3 sound in Photo
Story 3, with a preview button, I only could hear the sound when I pressed a
"play" button and then "next" button but there was absolute no sound if I
only pressed the Play button while video was still playing fine. Anybody has
any idea to solve the problem? Thanks.

The case is closed. It will work as long as using low bit rate MP3 files
(128 kbps, e.g.). I cannot ask for more since PS3 is free. By the way, I
apologize for posting under this title.

Best I can suggest is the Player FAQ at:
