Digital Image Pro 10 crashes without any error message

Digital Image Pro 10 crashes on my system without any
error message, log in the event file or anything that
would help to debug this. All D10 windows suddenly
disappear.

System:
512 MB Intel 845 EBT with 2.51 Ghz Pentium
XP SP/2 latest updated driver for onboard Nvidia Geforce.
Tried without hardware accelaration

Any clues here?

Are you running Norton GoBack 4.0? If you
are, there is an incompatibility and currently...
the only known solution is to uninstall GoBack
4.0 or disable it before opening DIP9 or DIP10.
(disabling will require a restart and you will lose
your restore points)

Here's some more info:

If you happen to have Adobe PhotoShop or
Elements installed...right click on a .jpg file
and choose Properties. Click the Photoshop
Image tab and uncheck the "Generate Thumbnails"
button, then click OK.

If you are running Norton AntiVirus 2004...add the
following files to the Auto-Scan Exclusion list:
Users of PI / DIP7.0...add piorg7.db
Users of PI / DIP9 or DIP10...add piorg.db

Also...the following software has been reported
to be incompatible with various Picture It! products.

Replay TV Software
Veritas Netbackup Professional backup
eFax Messenger Plus

THanks for your reply:
- I don't have GoBack but Norton Ghost 9.0 but it doesn't seem to make a
difference wheether that is activated or not?
- I don't quite understand your instructions about Photoshop? I right click
on an image from with in the Windows Browser ? Does this apply even if I
don't have Photoshop as the default application for jpegs. I use ACDsee for
that.

- Is there a way of running Image Pro in a mode that would catch the crash.
Its odd that it dies without error message, isn't it.

I'm not aware of any issues with Norton Ghost.

Actually, it's best to close *all* programs...
especially virus scanners *before* opening
Digital Image Pro.

If you have Adobe PhotoShop installed...try the
steps I posted. Just open any folder that contains
.jpg image files and right click one.

I have seen previous complaints that DIP
would close without an error if Replay TV Software
was installed.

The suggestions I posted are all I have on the
subject unless you could provide more info.
Maybe you could find the source of the problem
in your Event Viewer.

Control Panel / Administrative Tools / Computer
Management / Event Viewer / Application Errors.
