Just created a motion 'story' with PhotoStory 3. I would like to use it in my
Pinnacle Studio 9 video editing program. I is not recognizing the WMV files.
How can I confert the WMV files to an AVI or MPG file??
Studio 9 needs a DV-AVI type 2 file.... run the WMV story file through MM1
to convert it, or use MM2 to convert it to a type I and then one of the
conversion utilities to convert the DV-AVI file from type I to type II...
there are links on the Setup > Other Software page of my site for the
utilities.

Dear PapaJohn,
Thank you for the advice. I am running MM2 (Windows XP serv.pack2). When I
tried to save the MM@ try to save it as a MSWMM file. First: how can I
convert it to an MM1 file and convert it from there to a DV-AVI file? I wnet
to your site but I could not found any links to the mentioned Setup>other
Software page...

Steve

I'm not PapaJohn but maybe
the following steps will be useful:
Import the file into MM2...
drag it onto the timeline...
and go to...
File / Save Movie File.
On your "Save Movie Wizard"
screen...choose...My Computer...
Next...
Enter a file name and a save folder...
Next...
Open the "Other Settings" drop
window and choose...DV-AVI (NTSC).
Next...
That should do it.

Dear John,
Thank you for the answer! I successfuly converted the file to DV-AVI, but as
'PapaJohn' describe it I still have to convert the DV-AVI file to a type II
file because my Studio 9 still won't recognize the DV-AVI file. Any
suggestions???

Steve

Did you try the utilities PapaJohn pointed
you to on his site?
Go here:
www.papajohn.org
Wait for the left pane to load...
Go to...Setup / Other Software / Utilities...
scroll down to "Sometimes you need to
convert a type I DV-AVI file into a type II"
If you still require assistance...try asking
your question in the:
microsoft.public.windowsxp.moviemaker
newsgroup.
