Just created a 'Story' from a picture. It was saved in a wmv format. How can
I convert it to an avi or mpg format?

Run it through Movie Maker to a DV-AVI file.

Is there any way to recreat the .wp3 file from the final playable windows
media audio/video file?  I have the final format on a disk, but the original
.wp3 file was lost on my computer. gwh

No, if you didn't save the project (WP3) file, then you have to build it all
again... or live with the final video file saved from it.
