help! cant view pictures

ive just bought a new pc with windows media center, but i cant view any
pictures i download or recieve in emails. i transfer them all to my pictures,
but they just wont open whichever program i try to open them with, the
message i get is "unable to open" the file (picture) i choose ! can any help
me please?

hiya, the pictures i get are sent from friends in jpeg, but when i look at
the picture properties it just says "file" not "jpeg", dont know what to do,,
but thanks for your reply !

Do the files have the .jpg extension? If
not...try renaming the files and add it.
