Scenario:  I have a pair of folders that are synchronized using
'synchronize', and then make different updates to the same file in the left
and right folders. When I next run SyncToy, the later update is preserved on
both sides; the earlier update is lost!

Now, I appreciate that it serves me right for being so dumb, and that I can
recover the lost edit from the recycle bin if I notice in time, but is there
any way in which SyncToy could be enhanced to at least warn me that I am
losing the earlier update?

I looked at SyncToy and also Karens Replicator both free software and I
found Karens Replicator far better and easier to use.
I installed the Repliacator on my friends PC who wanted a simple backup
system and it's set to operate automatically every month which is suitable
for his fairly simple needs.

I'm new to SyncToy and worried on the details how it handles file conflicts
as listed in the White Paper - Using MS SyncToy, SW Version 2.0 Beta, page 3.
Up to now I've found answers nowhere. Besides I am sure there can arise a
number of situations similar as described by Philip, and warns are absolutely
essential, as well as clear item in a user's guide..

Folks, we're considering a change for future versions of SyncToy where on
conflicts, it will place the losing file in a pre-determined Save Folder so
you can inspect it later. It will also let you know when a conflict is
resolved as such and the loser is saved. It's too late to add this for the
Synctoy 2.0 final release but will be added in a later release.

Thanks
