Hi,

Have just tried to install Photo Info and it fails with the 'confusing
message' mentioned in the FAQ. I have tried to install WIC as suggested but
the installer tells me I already have a more up-to-date version of WIC
installed than that downloaded.

I am running XP Home SP3 32-bit on a 64-bit processor with .NET 3 (SP1)
which is not, afaik, some old beta version!

Any ideas?

(and) thanks!!

I don't know what Photo Info is or does.
Did you check if it will work on a 64-bit processor? Is this an XP problem
or a problem because this software was not designed to work on a 64-bit
processor?

Photo Info is a Microsoft extension to Windows Explorer which allows access
to the EXIF metatag data of image files
(http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/digitalphotography/prophoto/photoinfo.mspx)

I don't know if it runs on a 64-bit processor - there no information about
that and it's one of the reasons I'm asking on here:-)

Incidentally, I am NOT running 64-bit XP, just the bog-standard 32-bit
version. It's only the processor that's 64-bit. This combination has caused
me no problems before.

Hi Aphra,
I have the exact same problem with it, it always installed and ran perfectly
for me before I formatted, I had Win xp pro sp2 then, now I have sp3 on it
just wont install, I will google and try to find out why, if I find an answer
I will leave it here... can you do likewise?

SP3 introduced a problem - I cannot install anymore... I guess MS will issue
an updated version soon.
