After I installed service pack 2 onto some of our Windows
XP Pro workstations, I noticed that when a user faxes our
via small business server 2000, they do not get a pop up
box indicating the fax was sent or failed to send. We did
get the pop up box before adding service pack 2. The
firewall has been turned off on the workstations.

There is a pop-up blocker in SP2 that may be having an effect and you might
want to have a look at the status of the Messenger service

Still no good for the pop up message. I have rebooted the
server and made some config changes to my pc. I will keep
working on it. Another poster is having the same problem.
