How do I take a picture from something and put it on a
page that I want to type on?  For instance, I want to
take a picture of a trumpet and write a saying to put in
my daughters program at school.

Generally, you use an application that can accept pictures as well as text.
(Word will, but may not be the best for some applications.) I usually use
