Hello Everyone,
My 1st X.   Was trying to print a doc. from Word Pad, but I assumed I had
to save it 1st. (?).  So I did.  However my printer doesn't seem to work.

Hi;

No, you do not have to save it before you print it. In fact, you do not
have to ever save it. However, if you want to reuse either the entire or
parts of the document again, it is a good idea to save it.

I am sorry your printer does not seem to be working.

Do you want some advice or some kind of assistance? I suspect you might
want help getting the printer to work.

OK. I am kidding with you just a little. Perhaps you could describe what
you are trying to do, how you went about doing it, what happened
including any error messages. Also, it helps to know the printer make
and model, the source of the printer drivers. Too much detail is better
than not enough.
