unable to install printer

All of a sudden my computer no longer recognizes my printer. When I try to
readd the printer I get an error. In the Printer and Faxes window when I
click on the add printer icon I get the following:

Operation could not be completed:

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Hal
I recently paid for installed and used Registry Booster 2. I wish I had not.

I have now lost all three printers on my PC.
Going to control panel ther is nothing there. I have tried reinstalling
drivers. I get an error message unable to install cannot find printer com
port and sometimes message spooler drive not running. I have gone tcommand
prompt and typed in net spooler run. Still nothing with printers; (Epson on
Windows XP) two printers on USB the other via parallell port

Trying to install drivers I have same error messages
I tried tried restoring from registry backup all to no avail. I am totally
stuck any ideas.
