I am trying to share a printer from an XP computer to a 98
computer.  They are in the same workgroup.  The problem
is, when the 98 tries to connect to the printer, its being
prompted for a password.  I have tried absolutely
everything.  I put a user account on the XP machine that
matches the one on the 98 machine, I disabled
authentication on the XP machine, and now i'm at a loss.
Can anyone help me?  Thanks!

See if the details under item 6 on the page at
http://members.shaw.ca/bsanders/PrintingFAQ.HTM helps.

Note that the password for the user account on the XP computer must be
identical to that used to logon at the Windows 98 computer.

If you are using blank (empty) passwords, Windows XP, by default, will not
allow remote connections (to folder or printer shares) for user accounts
with blank passwords.

It's perfectly useless to know the right answer to the wrong question.
