I'm running the following at home:
ISP: Verizon DSL
Connection Speed: 128 UP/640 Down
Router: DI-714P+
Network Card: DI-520+
Operating System: Windows XP Pro.
What I want to accomplish is, I'm a student at a
university, which runs the Windows 2000 Operating System.
I want to be able to connect to my home computer from
school and have full access. I'm able to do this from
another computer connected to the same network without a
problem. Can someone help me? Please send me an E-mail
at JOSHSKORN@aol.com with specific directions.

You could use either XP Pro Remote Desktop or a VPN tunnel or run Remote Desktop through the VPN
tunnel.

If you use Remote Desktop forward TCP Port 3389 through your router to the XP Pro box. If you use
VPN forward TCP Port 1723 and make sure GRE Protocol 47 traffic can be passed. Some routers call
that "PPTP Pass Through" or "VPN Pass Through". In both cases call your home PC using the public IP
of the router.
