Actually - your case is fairly unique. It does *not* cause problems for
most people. In fact - most likely get their updates via automatic updates
followed by those who use the windowsupdate web page. Something just
happened in your transfer (more than likely) or possibly something got
changed later that corrupted a file or two you only used for Remote
Assistance.
Usually - only IT admins get the patches in a way other than the *normal*
two methods.. Even when it comes to service packs. =)
