Hey everyone,
This is xp home edition on a hp box.
I have a client that has a payed dialup account that was
originally setup with the MSN8 setup shortcut on the
desktop. It creates another desktop shortcut that starts
the dialup connection for the modem. I tried going into
the network folder to enable the builtin firewall,
however the application does not install any adapter
connection in there to configure. It only has a built in
LAN connection and Explorer connection. The original MSN
Application does not allow you to configure the network
adapter. How can I fix this, besides loading a software
firewall on there box? They got the sasser worm and I
want to prevent this again from occuring. Appreciate any
feedback. Many thanks.

is the modem external
some modems (including mine) use the network card so it might not appear in the network connections
you will need to turn the firewall on  on the LAN
