User account removal

When I try to delete an old User account the windows
freezes and then is shown as not responding. The account
is still there afterwards. Is there another way to do
this? Through the registry? How? HELP!!

open a command prompt.
start - run - command
at command prompt
NET USER /DELETE <Insert Username Here>
