HI,

Basically I log on to my computer which is on the network using my username
and password. I then want to use the run as option with different username
and password.

First I go to start, then all programs and then right click on internet
explorer and click on run as. A menu pops up and I can either run the program
as the current user or a different user.

I select different user and enter a different username and password then
click OK.
I then get an error message below

C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\IEXPLORE.EXE
The directory name is invalid

Could someone please help with this issue?

The only time you need to "run as" is if you are logged in as a Limited user
and need to run a process as an Administrator.
What exactly are you trying to acheive?

Hi,

I am a software engineer and require this function for testing. I am a admin
on the computer and I have admin rights too. The run as function should allow
me to run the program as a different user. It seems to work on other users
computers.

Thanks.

I have managed to solve the issue now, I had to Delete and recreate the
user's profile on the computer.

Thanks for your help.
