I have tryed installing win 2000 and win xp on my new computer but both are giving me tons of errors. Every time i try to get it to run it gives me an error PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA or DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL theres a whole list they are always randome. Win 2000 i got past the formating the hard drive but once i tryed installing it, it just locks up or gives me one of those blue screens. Any idea on how to fix this? Oh and i have installed win 2000 and other operating systems befor with no problem just this computer seems to not like me what do i have to change in the computer to get it to work. Danny, You indicate the STOP errors are somewhat random. Download memtest86 from www.memtest86.com, follow the instruction on creating a boot floppy and run memtest86 with extended tests for a minimum of 5 full runs. You should get no errors. If you get errors then there is an issue with either memory or its configuration. If you have just purchased this system new, I would return it, otherewise if it is second hand or you have built it your self, then you will need to fix this - it is not necessarily the memory, it may just be its configuration. Ok now the error has become constant as soon as it finnishes loading all the drivers it trys to start the installing program and i get this erro *** STOP: 0x0000001E (0xC000005,0X00000000,0X00000000,0X00000000 KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLE oh and some more things i am now trying with win 2000 pro. Check the CPU bus speed setting. Initially, the jumper JP2 was set to 'Auto' from the manufacturer (L4VXA2 P4 motherboard; Celeron 2.66 GHz CPU, 400 MHz FSB) Changed nged it to '533' (I'm running one stick of 512 MB DDR RAM. When I first started XP and W2K installs, I first had to disable L1/L2 cache which of course is really slow, and after reboot re-enabled it - still crashed.
