I bought a copy of windows xp professional with sp2 integrated. My computer
is a bit old, AMIBIOS 600mhz. crap video card but it works fine.

I do a clean format and then an install of windows xp, everything goes fine
until the it says "9 minutes left" and it's suppose to be finishing up the
setup and the thing screws up!

It freezes and theres vertical lines on the computer.

Did you run the Upgrade Advisor to see if your hardware
is indeed Windows XP compatible?
