When my daughter returned from College I learned that she had a "friend"
install a unliscensed copy of Windows XP on her PC. Of course this copy of
Windows is not registered and therefore can't recieve software updates etc.
My question is if I purchase a legal copy of Windows XP what will I have to
do to install it?
Thank you,

You'll need to purchase a "Full Version" of Windows XP
Professional and proceed with a "Repair Install".
