Network connections icon missing

hello,
i upgraded a norton antivirus program and now i all my network connections
icons are missing but networking continues to work, it's just that i cant go
to network connections anymore and do any additional configuration.
i have a windows xp home toshiba satellite laptop
all network adapters are enabled and working, any solutions will be
appreciated,

Hi,
Call Microsoft and request this hotfix and see if it works:

894543 Network connection icons are missing from the Network Connections
folder
