AT&T is now telling me that MSN is blocking me from downloading
the news group that they recommend.  I have tried all three that they
recommend.

Does anyone have an idea as to what I can do?

What news reader is recommended in place of OE?

TIA

Newsreaders in place of Outlook Express?
XNews, FreeAgent <- those come to mind.  But do a search and read reviews
for yourself.

You failed to mention which newsgroups that AT&T recommended that you are
being "blocked" from..
And why that even came up?

You missed my earlier posts SS.  I use OE and I cannot download the news
groups from 'news.houston.sbcglobal.net', nor the other two that SBC
recommends.  Their claim is that MSN is blocking me connecting to the news
server.  I have no trouble with any other server.  I do prefer OE.  Is there
any way to unblock the connection.  I feel that AT&T is just guessing, they
have very little expertise in handling this issue.  They cannot connect
either using OE.  So their answer is tough, they don't support news groups,
but they still sell the program.

Thanks anyhow for your answer.

Yes - I would miss that - since it was not kept in one single thread. =)

I see your ISP is sbcglobal.net...
I only point this oout because some (many) ISPs block usage of their
resources from outside users.
Since you are not "outside" of their domain when using your DSL - then it
*should* be working.
