I installed a knew hard drive in my computer and had problems transferring
previous install of windows so I decided to reinstall windows. However when I
start my computer with the cd in it begins to boot from the cd and gets to
where it says windows is checking the hardware and stops. I put the old drive
back in and the cd boots normorally and comes to the screen asking if I want
to install windows.

This "new" hard drive - does it connect in the same way as the old?
Is it recognized properly in the BIOS?

The new drive is reconized in the bios. Both drives are parallel ATA although
the old one is ATA/66 and the new one is ATA/133.
