I have just installed Windows XP Pro with SP2 and all of the Microsoft
Updates for Windows XP and Office 2003.  When choosing the option to shutdown
my computer, my computer will go through the process of shutting down but
when it gets to the point to physically shut the computer off, it reboots
instead.  Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

There is a good trouble shooter for this problem here
http://www.aumha.org/win5/a/shtdwnxp.php

It is likely that a system failure occured and a reboot was ordered.  As
explained in the above article you can prevent a reboot from being
happening.

Are there any error messages in the event viewer?  I assume this is a first
time install on a new system, not a re-install right?
