Hi,

I have a small network with a single Windows 2003 domain controller.
Windows XP client workstations.  I have one user using the DOS version of
autocad.  I'm creating a machine with DOS and the MS network client.

I'm able to obtain an IP address from the DHCP server on the Windows 2003
server.  I can type net view and get a list of machines that offer services.

If I try to map a drive to a share on the Windows XP machines, I get "error
53: the computer name cannot be found"

I have turned off the SMB signing and encryption through group policy.  This
has not solved the problem.

Has anyone encountered this and have a solution for me?

Thanks in advance
Dwayne

Are you running WINS?  If you aren't, that's the problem.
