I installed WinXP on my Win2K Pro laptop.  I had the computer on, and running
on my profile when I inserted the insall disk.  I chose the upgrade option,
as my installation fit the requirements.
Once I was done, the computer came on with my wifes profile, but mine was
missing.  I logged into her profile, and attempted to set up my profile
again, however, it said that profile was already in use.  I mada an admin
account for myself using a nick name.  I look in the user accounts area, and
it only shows my wifes account and my nickname account.  When I reboot the
computer, it only shows two choices, my nickname account and my wifes.
Is there any way to recover the original account?  I backed up everything
that was on that account before I did the installation, so it's not a
question of recovering information, but there is no reason to have all of the
stuff on the HD twice!
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Is the account listed in C:\Documents and Settings\<account name here>?

When you reboot, press CTRL + ALT + DEL (twice if required) at the logon
screen and type in your old username and password in the login screen, does
that get you into your account?
