Windows XP 64 Bit Edition

I have previously, successfully installed xp 64 on an amd64 machine.

Now, I am attempting to install it on intel core 2.  At the beginning of the
install, I get a message stating setupreg.hiv couldn't be loaded.  I am not
sure if the installation disk is shut or there is an issue with intel.
