I had a working XP Pro installation and after some
performance frustration with my Pavilion 1.6 celeron,
purchased a new Soyo Dragon  SY-P4I875P mother board with
the 2.0G processor and Hyperthreading.. replaced the
motherboard and system just hangs on boot. no errors,
just does the VMI pool and stops. Resetting CMOS doesnt
help.
Booted from XP Home CD and attempted to repair
installation.. Still hangs.

Installed in new partition, freshly formatted and still
wont boot..

I am totally at a loss. Since the CDROM can see and write
to the drive, why cant I boot from it??

Hi, Don,

Probably a dumb question, but did you Activate the drive after you formatted
it?
