Hi, i have the task of updateing some 200+ computers from w2k w /sp4 to xp w
/sp2. I have been doing some resarch into ways i can go about this and i have
come accorss SMS, GPO, Unattended install.... I have also heard that may be
able to deploy via logon script?? but have not actually researched this
possible option yet.
I would be really greatfull to hear of others experiences and ways they
underwent this kind of project.
Many thanks

While not real familiar with this subject, I'd suggest that you check out the
Business Desktop Deployment package. Info here:

Since testing my xp pro sp2 upgrades i have come across a couple of instances
that i need to resolve.
The first one being that the computers i have upgraded i can no longer use
computer management to remotely view its events. I could so before the
upgrade. I can also view the evens on the actual computer locally, just not
remotly. I have check the RCP srvice is running and i am also using full
admin rights on the computer management console.
Also a couple of the computers graphic drivers are not updating with the
upgrade and so i am having to install the graphic drivers manually after the
upgrade....
any advice is welcome
Thanks
