If youve booted to a SATA hd ok,& also have IDE hds,then youre BIOS is not
configured correctly.Usually in advanced chipset settings,integrated
periferals,
one must set to use both SATA & IDE,enhanced mode or similiar (read the
owners manual).Also,as with intel,they have a chipset installation utility
(AMD
must also) install it,as it updates the MB hardware to the OS.If all is
ok,go to
run,type:diskmgmt.msc In msc if the IDE hd is listed,L.click on it,go to
actions,
all,select:make active

You wont be able to boot from the origonal HD without doing a repair install
of win, and loading chipset and other drivers supplied with your new mobo.
