HP suggested that I disable 'SATA native mode' in the BIOS configuration,
this seemed to resolve my problems during and after install. I'm using WinXP
Pro 64 bit edition, so your mileage may vary...

My HP dv9575 BIOS does not have the feature.
Official answer from HP customer support was BUY VISTA ULTIMATE and u will
get free downgrade from it to XP on some models but they were unsure if
dv9575 goes in to list.
Microsoft Estonia answered me even if i buy XP Pro license - HP should
support me with drivers.
Could cause court chase IMHO.
From HP Customer support I asked question IF i buy XP separately , i do not
want pay extra 8000 estonian kroon for VISTA Ultimate - i rather buy XP Pro
for 2130 EEK
Answer was - Your alone then - if u get it work your own care how U do it.
And on their website there is claim they do not support Windows XP on HP
dv9575 model.
So my solution follows:
Solution for me was:
Fresh copy of XP from shop.
Download Intel SATA drivers version 7.5 worked for me. (Intel 82801HEM/HBM
ICH8M)
Download chipset drivers for 965 chipset (ICH8M).
Download files from HP site for models 6500 and 9500 series - there are XP
drivers
for different optional components - Webcam, audio (dont forget UAA driver),
network, SD/MMC/xD card reader.
Nvidia drivers can be found as well, seek for hacked version in hardware
tweakers websites.
Download nLite for slipstreaming drivers.
Now if everything downloaded
make copy of your XP CD on HDD
extract IntelINF and SATA drivers in to catalogs.
Extract drivers
now add drivers slipstreaming them with nLite
Finally make an ISO file and burn in to CD
Some drivers and software must be taken from Soft catalog on original VISTA
install, i'd sugest to back it up in whole ( some 2,5 Gb data)
So use CD-RW or DVD-RW if u fail - repeat until u get it working - for me it
worked.
And i proudly run it now on my HP dv9575
If any questions i will check back time to time for replies or u can send

With best wishes and luck to you all.
P.S
dv9575 is with XP a workhorse!
