I re-installed XP on a Demension 3000 plus the drivers I thought. I can't get
any sound. Audio properties show it being adjusted up and down but I can't
hear anything. Help please!

How did you do this re-install?  Did you use your Dell's Recovery
"system (oartition or CD?)

You may also need to locate the correct motherboard chipset drivers,
which should help to tell XP how to access the mothernoard components.
