When I went to install Windows XP Pro to the formatted Hard Drive I
received the following error messages.

Insert CD for Service Pack 1

Error I386/asms missing?

I simply want to re-install XP from the master disk.
Is there something that I am missing, besides the above information?

Do I need to swipe the Hard Disk before I re install the OS or what/

Install disk is requesting I386/asms

It is usually impossible to re-install XP while running  the install
from within WIndows XP.

You must:

1) Set the BIOS to boot from CD / DVD ROM drive (first boot device.)
2) Insert XP install CD into the drive
3) Reboot PC and follow direction to boot from CD, is displayed on
monitor.

An important step to consider is to create a "revised" XP install CD
(aka slipstreaming) which would contain the "latest" available
"released" service pack (Service Pack 3 is still in test phases and is
not release for updates.)
