Activation problem

I moved a license for XP Home to another computer. Went
through the activation process and it worked fine.
HOWEVER, I keep getting the reminder message to actvate
within x days. When that button is pushed, Windows says it
has been activated!
Today was Day 30 and we can no longer log onto the
machine. When we try to activate it says it is but logs us
off anyways.
How do I resolve short of reformatting and installing from
scratch? Hope there is a solution.
Thanks
